Greetings

During the Korean Civil War, I was in despair when my parents died, and I became blind at age ten. I have to live on the streets for two and half years. In my adversity and despair, I relied on God who answered my prayers: I was able to study in general schools to become a minister.

The Siloam Eye Hospital and the Siloam Foundation for the Blind, established with the help from God the Ebenezer and various people who continue to show their love and support, work together with their affiliated organizations such as the Siloam Center for the Blind, Siloam Hyomyung House(Nursing Home), Sullivan Education Support Center, and Siloam Vocational Training Center to carry out the noble work of improving the overall quality of life for the visually impaired. At the same time, various medical mission work including free sight-restoring operations, preventive eye care, eye health support, and support for the disabled are being conducted in 14 developing countries, creating new hope on earth as well as in heaven.

I sincerely thank you for your endless support in prayers and love gracefully bestowed upon Siloam Eye Hospital and Siloam Foundation for the Blind which were established to help change people’s lives from being in the darkness of despair to seeing the light. I plead with you to continuously have interest, support and prayers for our cause.

In the future, I will do my best with all strength given to see that these two institutions serve the people to acquire new hope and to see the light of life, akin to the miracle at the Pool of Siloam.

Sincerely yours,

Rev. Kim Sun-Tae

Director of Siloam Eye Hospital
